PSYC 355 – Psychology of Stress (3 credits) (Prerequisite: PSYC 101) This course provides students with an overview of stress, including its physiology, psychology, measurement, relationship with health outcomes, and methods of prevention or reduction. Offered as needed.

What research has led to this request?

Ms. Stanton previously taught this course as a special topic and had excellent interest in the course. By including this course as regular option it will increase the options for students to take to meet the required upper-level electives in our curriculum. .

What impact will this request have on existing academic programs?

This course is not expected to have any impact on other existing academic programs.

What financial costs are associated with this request?

No additional financial cost are expected.

If NO change in cost is anticipated, how is this possible?

We have offered variants of this course for a couple of years as a rotating topics course (PSYC 489). The addition of this course will reduce the need for PSYC 489 offerings.
