Justification For Request

What research has led to this request?

Students currently have the opportunity to study leadership and advocacy broadly, but also consistently request the opportunity for more specialized classes in those tracks. Offering Independent Study credits for graduate students allows them to immerse themselves in a topic not necessarily focused on in a currently-offered course.

What impact will this request have on existing academic programs?

It will offer more electives for COMM graduate students.
