CCU soccer player drafted by Colorado Rapids at MLS SuperDraft

Coastal Carolina University's Frantzdy Pierrot has been selected in the 2018 Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft by the Colorado Rapids.

The Rapids made the Boston, Mass., native the fourth pick in the second round and the 27th overall pick of the draft.
Pierott performed in front of all 23 MLS teams as one of the invitees to the 2018 Major League Soccer Adidas Player Combine.

"It is just an exciting time for me and my family, and we were all together at home sharing in my dream together," Pierrot said. "I am ready now to work hard and help Colorado get to the playoffs. Colorado is an up-and-coming team, and I am excited to be a part of that."

"It's a testament to Frantzdy and our team this year that good opportunities will present themselves with good application, hard work and selfless play," said Shaun Docking, CCU's head soccer coach. "Frantzdy deserves all the credit for leading his team this year, and I have no doubt he will be successful with this new venture with the Colorado Rapids!"

With the drafting of Pierrot, Docking has seen six of his players chosen in the MLS SuperDraft in the past seven years, and Pierrot is the 13th player CCU has seen drafted in the MLS SuperDraft since 2004.
