ยป Update on construction projects

Coastal Carolina University's facilities and maintenance staff has been hard at work. Here's an update on ongoing projects:

• Smith Science Building – The building is open and in use, although punch list activities are still taking place. A new double entry door for the Prince Lawn side of the building is scheduled to be installed during spring break.

• Early Childhood Development and Literacy Center, Kingston Hall – Bids were open for upgrading Kingston Hall to house the proposed new Early Childhood Development and Literacy Center. Construction is scheduled to begin late March, and the substantial completion is set for August 2018.

• Brooks Stadium Phase II – Piles are being driven as part of the expansion project, which will include additional seats, restrooms, concessions and suites. The second phase is scheduled to be completed by January 2019.

• University Place – Installation of new flooring in University Place residence hall units continues. The project is completed in UP 120. Work is going on now in UP 190 and should be completed in a couple of weeks. UP 118 is scheduled for May 14 – July 13.

• Wall Building Fountain – Punch work has been completed on the Wall Fountain project.
