Faculty member to speak at symposium

Tripthi Pillai, associate professor of English, is one of the speakers at the upcoming festival symposium, “Shakespeare and Race,” at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London. The weeklong event, Aug. 11 to 17, "aims to address the racial imbalances that exist not only in the industry of theatre but also in Shakespeare studies,” according to festival director.

This is the first time in the Globe’s 20-year history that the topic of race will be explored in depth, according to event organizers.
