10 new staff join Teal Nation in August; September orientation delayed

Ten new staff members joined Teal Nation in August to work in departments from Admissions and Merit Awards to athletics to facilities and operations. They participated in New Employee Orientation on Aug. 16.

The September New Employee Orientation was delayed multiple times due to Hurricane Florence and the subsequent flooding event and has yet to be rescheduled.

Meet the new employees:

Michelle Gildea is the new assistant lacrosse coach. She is originally from Springfield, Pa., and came to CCU for the exciting new opportunity. She loves pizza, coaching lacrosse, and spending time with family and friends.

Connie Glidden joined the Office of Training, Development and Service Excellence as a training development coordinator. She is originally from Manning, S.C., and has worked at CCU before. Glidden has a twin sister, and they grew up on a lake, so she loves to hike, waterski and travel. 

Lee Masters, a licensed attorney in West Virginia, is the new assistant director of compliance for the Department of Athletics. He is originally from Charleston, W.Va., and loves pasta, sports and traveling. 

Christopher Moore, originally from Wilmington, Del., is the new assistant director for accessibility and disability services. He loves to run, so much that he ran the Chicago marathon in 2017. He loves to read and is fluent in American Sign Language. He chose to come to CCU for its commitment to professional development and student support.

Brittany Munz is a an administrative specialist for the Payroll Office from Annville, Pa. She is a triplet, and she has twin uncles and twin nephews. She trained in dance for more than 20 years and was a choreographer and dance teacher for eight years. She currently serves as a vocalist at Barefoot Church in North Myrtle Beach.

Gunther Rolappe joins the facilities and operations team as a first shift custodian. He is originally from Kunkletown, Pa., and his favorite food is pizza.

Courtney Sterbenz is an assistant director of admissions events for the Office of Admissions and Merit Awards. She is originally from Swartz Creek, Mich., and attended Central Michigan University. Her sister and husband are CCU alumns, and she loves the unique atmosphere at Coastal that makes her feel at home.

Lila Toppings, originally from Alexandria, Va., is a marketing and administrative assistant for the Kimbel Library. She has two boys, ages 3 and 10 months, and leads a moms group at The Rock Church in Conway.

Aleya Tylinksi is an assistant director of admissions events for the Office of Admissions and Merit Awards. Her favorite food is Alaskan crab legs, but she has never tried chicken bog (yet). She is originally from Pittsburgh, Pa., so one of her hobbies is keeping up with all the Pittsburgh sports teams. 

Jeremy Wakefield is a custodian with facilities and operations. He comes to Coastal Carolina all the way from Twin Peaks, Calif. He loves comics and video games, and his favorite food is sushi.
