Mysterious ghosts "boo-ing" faculty and staff on campus

Several faculty and staff members this Halloween season received signs that read, "You’ve been BOOed!"

But what exactly does it mean to be “BOOed”?

Getting “booed” indicates that someone has secretly given you a special, festive treat. The treat includes a sign for your workspace that lets people know that you have already been “booed,” as well as instructions on how to pass along the fun.

How did this all begin? An anonymous CCU employee began this new tradition after seeing it done online by people within their own neighborhoods, “boo-ing” their neighbors. This employee wanted to make faculty and staff smile through receiving and giving, especially after a stressful beginning to the semester due to Hurricane Florence.

Faculty and staff members knew the creator had “booed” them because they were surprised with a small teal pumpkin. To pass along the fun, "booed" individuals decided what they want to gift to their next "victim." Employees who have been “booed” were asked to email ccyoubeenbooed@gmail.com in order to keep track so no one got “booed” twice.

The identity of the originator remains a Halloween secret. If you were not been “booed” this time around, don’t fret. This will return next Halloween season! The list of who was “booed” this year is below.
