Sanders named executive director of alumni relations at CCU
Coastal Carolina University alumna Diane Fabiano Sanders has been named the University’s new executive director of alumni relations.
Sanders, who earned a bachelor’s degree in musical theatre from the University in 2005, is responsible for all functions of CCU’s Office of Alumni Relations, which include cultivating relationships with alumni; leading the alumni association and its activities; planning on- and off-campus alumni events; the annual giving program and developing the student alumni ambassador club.
“Diane is the perfect fit to lead our alumni relations office and its initiatives,” said Bryan Steros, interim vice president for philanthropy. “While working at Coastal, she has developed many strong relationships with various offices on campus, and she is very well-connected with our growing alumni base. I am confident that she will enhance our alumni relations programs and be a strong and passionate leader for our 32,000-plus alumni who proudly represent Teal Nation.”
Sanders began working at CCU more than 11 years ago. She most recently worked as the director for philanthropy for the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. She also has served her alma mater as the director of annual giving, as a program assistant in the Office of Alumni Relations, and held various positions in the Office of Admissions and Merit Awards.
“The growth and ongoing development of Coastal Carolina University is truly remarkable,” Sanders said. “I look forward to celebrating all things CCU with our growing alumni base. I am very excited to return to the alumni office and work with a great staff to enhance all of our alumni relations initiatives. My goals include helping alumni reconnect with one another and their alma mater through various events, getting everyone involved with spreading the word about this great university and highlighting our alumni success stories.”
A native of Red Bank, N.J., Sanders lives in Conway with her husband, Aarron, and their two sons, Dylan, 3, and Ethan, 7 months.
