Celebrating community all month long

As the end of our semester approaches and we prepare to close the chapter on 2018, I’m reminded of the important role community has played in our success this year. We have much to be grateful for this year, and you can see that for yourself by perusing the contents of this newsletter.

December presents us with several opportunities to celebrate the success of our community by bringing people together, and I highly encourage you to attend at least one of these events. The Feel the Teal® Celebration Luncheon on Dec. 4 at noon will recognize the more than 50 employees who have completed their training this semester, and I look forward to celebrating them.

Also on Dec. 4 is our Annual Holiday Park Lighting at Blanton Park. There will be a musical performance, seasonal delights, festive activities, and special appearances by Chauncey, the CCU Dance Team and Santa Claus. This is a wonderful event for the entire family and I hope you will join us. It will be held in Blanton Park from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

After classes and finals are complete, we will host the Annual Holiday Reception. On Dec. 13 from 5-8 p.m., heavy hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served in the Singleton Ballroom during this drop-in style reception. A formal invitation was sent to all faculty and staff via email. RSVP to the email provided in the invitation (events2@coastal.edu). I look forward to enjoying your company as we celebrate the end of another successful semester.

Remember, the people at Coastal Carolina University and your many strengths are what make this campus such a special community. Thank you for all that you do to feel the teal. I hope you will join me this holiday season in celebrating Teal Nation.

Sincerely,

David A. DeCenzo, Ph.D.
President
