Wall College hosts annual Wall Connections event

Wall College Connections, a signature event sponsored annually by the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University, is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 13, in the Wall College of Business. This year's theme is "Tackling Tomorrow: Preparing for a Future Career Today." This event is free and open to the public.

Various educational sessions will be conducted by faculty, staff, students and business professionals from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the Wall building.

A panel discussion with successful business and academic professionals will be held at 11 a.m. in the Johnson Auditorium. Panelists include David Fink, lecturer of management; Arlise McKinney, associate professor of management at CCU; Jason Repak ’07, president of Hudson Custom Homebuilders Inc. and TACK Holdings Inc.; and Steven Vanden Heuvel ’16, director of strategy and operations at M&A Insurance.

This year’s keynote speaker is Michael King, owner of KingOne Properties in Myrtle Beach. King, a native of the area, started his real estate career at age 19 while he was a student at Coastal Carolina. Over the years, he has marketed, sold and developed properties that have won local, regional, national and international recognition. KingOne Properties has additional locations in Charleston, Ft. Lauderdale and Toronto.

King is not only a prominent businessman, but he is also active in his community helping child-affiliated charities. He is currently the co-chairman of fundraising for an Horry County safe house for mothers and children who are victims of domestic violence; he is president of 2 Live Beyond, a local charity that raises money for eight different children’s charities; and he is an advisory board member of the WALBER foundation, an organization that helps children have the courage to achieve their dreams. King is also the vice chairman for the Grant Center for Real Estate and Economics’ advisory board.

King resides in Myrtle Beach with his wife, Victoria, and kids, Christian and Giselle. He and his wife will be welcoming their third child, Luciana, in March.

The keynote session will take place at 2 p.m. in Johnson Auditorium; doors open at 1:30 p.m. Students need to bring their student IDs.
