CCU welcomes 14 new staff members to campus this month

Two alumni have returned to Coastal Carolina University as staff members this month, along with 12 other new team members. Among them are a United States Marine, a Quidditch lover and someone who really loves the Oxford comma.

Gus Brown Jr. has joined the Department of Public Safety. His loves include pizza, fried chicken, football and playing with his four children. He is originally from Akron, Ohio.

Patricia Brown is an access services specialist for the Kimbel Library. She loves reading, painting, baking and being outside. When asked what her favorite food is, she asked, "Does coffee count?"

Kim Decker is a police officer with the Department of Public Safety. She comes to CCU after 14 years in law enforcement. She is originally from South Williamsport, Pa., and has two children with her husband of 12 years. She enjoys family time, hiking, swimming and painting, and she has been a softball coach for more than 10 years.

Alexandra Drose is a community coordinator with University Housing. She loves macaroni and cheese, Quidditch, baking, reading and Tar Heel basketball. She double majored in linguistics and Italian as an undergrad at UNC-Chapel Hill and has visited six foreign countries and 15 states.

Mary Cali Duncan is a special projects assistant for The Athenaeum Press in the Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. Her favorite food is meatloaf and she is a self-professed chocoholic. Among her other loves? Her nephew, her niece and the Oxford comma.

Gordon McCawley is the associate director of annual giving and alumni relations for the Office for Philanthropy and Alumni Relations. He is originally from Indianapolis, Ind., and enjoys music, Asian food and improv comedy. He chose CCU so he could "be a part of the meaningful effort that CCU brings to its students and community."

Angela McCray is a custodian with University Housing. She places her faith in God above all else, followed by her family (she has five children!). She loves macaroni and cheese, pizza, nachos, bingo, photography and decorating. She is originally from Conway.

David Metallo Sr. has joined facilities as a carpenter. He is originally from Newark, N.J., and loves riding his dirtbike and playing with his grandchildren. Favorite food? "Everything!"

Wesley Milton is an information security analyst with ITS. He served this country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps and has touched every longitude on the planet. His favorite food is sushi and he enjoys working in his computer lab at home.

Kaitlin Nash '14 is the assistant director of resident success for University Housing. She majored in political science at CCU, is a certified yoga instructor, and loves crafting and reading Harry Potter. "CCU was my home as a college student and I had such a wonderful experience," she said. "I am so excited to be working in University Housing and being able to help other Chants find their home at CCU!"

Diane Scharff is a custodian in University Housing.

Richard Frazier III is the assistant director for student advocacy and intervention in the Dean of Students Office. Though he is a graduate of Savannah State University, teal is one of his favorite colors. He love ice cream, movies, singing, bowling and going out to eat.

Noah Whitlock '17 '18 has joined the Office of Admissions as the marketing and communications assistant. His favorite food is pizza dn he enjoys sports and music. He is originally from Baltimore, Md., and worked for CHANT411 during his time at Coastal.
