Get your nominations for Chauncey's Champions in before April 15!

The Feel the Teal® Task Force recognition subcommittee launched a faculty/staff recognition program called Chauncey’s Service Excellence Champions last year, and more than 100 faculty and staff members have been nominated by their peers and supervisors as Chauncey’s Champions so far this academic year!

All Chauncey’s Champions this year received a certificate and an exclusive pullover or a YETI® tumbler.

To celebrate their achievements, May 17, 2019, has been declared “Chauncey’s Champions Day,” and all approved Champions will receive two complimentary tickets to attend the Coastal baseball game versus Appalachian State on May 17 at 6 p.m.

Additionally, one nominated faculty member and one nominated staff member will receive the Outstanding Chauncey’s Service Excellence Champion of the Year Award at the State Service Awards on May 15. Last year, faculty member Pam Martin and staff member Amanda Wilson were our outstanding champions, both receiving a bonus of $1,954!

There is still time to submit nominations for your colleagues who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide excellent service to the campus community. Nominations received before April 15, 2019, will be eligible for consideration for the annual award.

You can nominate your peers for consideration as a Chauncey’s Champion by clicking here and submitting a nomination form.

Chauncey's Service Excellence Champions are University employees (faculty or staff) who perform service-oriented actions that meet at least one the following five dimensions of service quality:

Reliability: Provides dependable and honest service by going above and beyond for customers.
Responsiveness: Promptly offers excellent and efficient service that creates a fast and friendly experience.
Assurance: Acts knowledgably to listen and creatively solve problems for others.
Empathy: Demonstrates excellent care and understanding.
Tangibles: Displays, improves and serves others through professional tangibles in all settings.

All nominations should include specific examples of service excellence, and nominations are not guaranteed recognition. View current Chauncey’s Champions here, and read about them once a month in the faculty/staff newsletter, The Atheneum!
