State’s highest court held session at Coastal Carolina University

“All rise….”

These are words many citizens hear only on television or at the movies. For those who generally find themselves on the proper side of the law, the inside of a real courtroom is often unfamiliar, and perhaps even mysterious, territory.

The S.C. Supreme Court is looking to change that as it held session in Wheelwright Auditorium at Coastal Carolina University on Wednesday and Thursday, April 17-18.

The event, which was free and open to the public, brought several authentic cases to the Wheelwright stage so citizens and students could observe the judicial system at work.
