Photo contest winners announced

The winners of last semester’s Eye on the World Photo Contest were recently announced. The contest was held in conjunction with International Education Week, an annual event that occurs the second week of November. The award recipients were: Ashlee Dubinsky, first place, for "Sugar Cane Harvest" (Dominican Republic); Dan Abel, second place for "Ghana Eyes"; Michael Collins, third place for "Ecuador River."

Entrants were asked to submit an international photo with a brief narrative explaining their image and what the scene or image meant to them. Photos were judged on content, originality, composition and the narrative. This year’s recipients were given Follett Bookstore gift certificates. The winning photos are on display in the Follett Bookstore.

The contest was judged by Easton Selby, CCU photography professor; Keshav Jagannathan, math professor; and Geoff Parsons, director of International Programs.
