Honors Convocations split up this year

Coastal Carolina University will present awards for student academic achievement and recognition on Thursday, May 5. The annual Honors Convocation has been split into four ceremonies according to academic college.

A reception will be held for all participants at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Singleton Building in James P. Blanton Circle.
The Honors Convocations will begin at 7 p.m. in the Edwards Recital Hall for humanities and fine arts students; the Wall Auditorium for business administration students; the Lackey Chapel for education students; and Wheelwright Auditorium for science and University College students.

“As our student population grows, the number of our students with honorable achievements has increased so that we could not serve them all in one space,” says Provost Robert Sheehan. “However, as more spaces on campus open up, the possibility to put it back together exists.”

Department awards will be presented to 37 students in recognition of outstanding academic accomplishments and contributions to the academic quality of their respective departments.
