DeCenzo addresses educator groups in Chengdu, China

Coastal Carolina University President David DeCenzo was one of seven American and Chinese university presidents to deliver a speech at the Sino-American Presidents’ Forum in Chengdu, China, on June 22. DeCenzo was invited to offer his comments about successful internationalization strategies at CCU.

The event was organized by The China Council for International Educational Exchange and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities as a part of the annual meeting and graduation ceremony for the 1+2+1 Sino-American Dual Degree Program.

Since the program’s inception 11 years ago, the 1+2+1 program has brought more than 1,000 Chinese students to complete coursework at U.S. universities.

Coastal Carolina University joined the program in 2007 and received its first student in the program in 2008. At present, Coastal has three students in the program on campus and will receive three more for the Fall 2011 semester.
