Thornburg gets promotion

Gregory Thornburg has been promoted to the position of Interim Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Services at Coastal Carolina University.

The interim assistant vice president is responsible for assisting with the implementation of a comprehensive enrollment marketing and recruitment plan in accordance with the strategic direction of the college. In addition, he is charged with developing strategies to intensify the University’s efforts to enroll additional in-state students for fall 2012.

In addition to his new responsibilities, Thornburg will continue his duties as director of Financial Aid & Scholarships.

Thornburg began his career with CCU in August 2010. He is the former dean of enrollment services at Arkansas State University.

He earned a master's degree in counseling and student personnel services at the University of Memphis in 1991 and a bachelor's degree in music/Bible from Johnson University in Knoxville, Tenn., in 1983.
