CCU's marching band parades for Stephen Colbert/Herman Cain rally

Coastal Carolina University's marching band, The Spirit of the Chanticleers, led Stephen Colbert and Herman Cain into their political rally on Saturday, Jan. 21, in Charleston.

Former GOP presidential candidate Cain joined the comedian and host of Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" for the event titled "The Rock Me Like A Herman Cain: South Cain-olina Primary Rally."

Drum major Jacqui King said it was a "really fun experience" and something she never thought she'd be involved in. "There were tons of people and news crews and cameras and signs," she said. "It was pretty overwhelming."

Though she didn't get to meet the zany pundit, King said he stood next to her and the other CCU drum major and was "making cracks and jokes" the whole time. "He did give the band a thumbs-up; I thought that was pretty exciting!"

The 50 members of the CCU Marching Band led the "parade" playing "Party Rock Anthem," according to Band Director Jim Tully. The only members of the parade, aside from the band, were Colbert and Cain.
