'Coastal Today' celebrates 500th show

"Coastal Today," Coastal Carolina University's signature TV program, celebrated its 500th show on Monday, Oct.1.

Hosted by theater professor Robin Edwards-Russell, the show started in January 2001 and has featured around 2,500 CCU students, faculty staff and alumni over the years.

"We also have incredible news to share!" says Martha Hunn, executive producer of the show. 'Coastal Today,' will air on WPDE News Channel 15 on Sundays at 12:30 p.m. and on WFXB Fox 43 on Sundays at 11 a.m., beginning Oct. 7. Be sure to tune in."

The 500th show featured CCU alumni who have "come back" to Coastal following their graduation, including Olympic competitor Amber Campbell and Kerry Schwanz, psychology professor.

The campus was invited to help celebrate with a giant "Coastal Today" cake.
