CCU's Farmers Market a great success

The CCU Farmers Market brought together more than 12 local vendors to sell products to the campus community on Prince Lawn on April 22. Students, staff and faculty browsed the market’s products and the adjoining Sustainability Fair to learn more living sustainably from campus organizations. The CCU Greenhouse had plants available for sale, too. The Farmers Market is hosted in collaboration with the Waccamaw Market Cooperative, which hosts Farmers Markets in Conway, North Myrtle Beach and Surfside from May through October. Visit http://waccamawmarkets.org/ for details.

“Every semester we give our campus the opportunity to support the livelihood of local farmers and vendors with the Farmers Market. It was exciting to have this event on Earth Day this year,” said Jennifer Sellers, CCU sustainability coordinator.

The next CCU Farmers Market will be in early September 2014. Visit coastal.edu/sustain for details.
