Two new faces in University Communication

Two new positions have been filled in the Office of University Communication recently.

Brent Reser is the new coordinator of social media and online marketing, and JoAnna Dalton is University editor.

A native of Spokane, Wash., Reser earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Montana in 2009. An internship in the athletics department propelled him to a full-time position in Grizzly Athletics where he served as the assistant marketing director for two years. In 2011, Reser was promoted to director of new media. While handling all digital responsibilities for the department, Reser administered and marketed the website (gogriz.com) and built a social media program that became the top in the Football Championship Subdivision based upon following and engagement.

Reser’s duties at CCU include building a strategic social media strategy for the University, developing and posting content for all social sites and collaborating with all entities on campus with a social media presence. His interests include working out, playing/watching sports, traveling and keeping up his blog.

Dalton was formerly the administrative coordinator for the Office of Finance and Administration. Her duties include handling of incoming items needing proofing/editing.

Dalton volunteered with Meals on Wheels and served a stint as the youth group leader at her church. She attended Coastal Carolina University and received the Women in Philanthropy and Leadership scholarship twice; she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in English in 2009. She is a member of WIPL.

She has a son, also a graduate of Coastal Carolina University, and a daughter who attends Horry Georgetown Technical College.
