Leave a lasting legacy on campus

When the dust settles and the renovations on Atheneum Hall are complete, a new brick walkway will lead to the most familiar architectural structure on campus. Brick pavers (8-by-8-inches) are currently for sale to anyone interested in leaving a lasting legacy on campus.

The Atheneum Hall Alumni Center is expected to be complete in January 2015 and will offer much needed meeting space for campus events, as well as a place for alumni to call home. This building is significant to many Coastal Carolina University alumni as it was the second building to be constructed on campus. Dedicated in 1966, Atheneum Hall was originally used as the student union and campus cafeteria. As the University grew and more buildings were erected, Atheneum Hall served a variety of purposes, from housing the fine arts program to providing headquarters for the Department of Public Safety.

The brick pavers sell for $250, and the cost can be payroll deducted at $11 per pay period. All proceeds will be used to fund scholarships for future CCU students. Engraving of up to four lines of text with 16 characters per line will identify the donor while providing the opportunity for the paver to be dedicated in honor of or in memory of someone important to the donor.

For more information, contact the alumni relations staff at 843-349-ALUM (2586) or alumni@coastal.edu, or visit CCUBRICK.com to reserve and customize your very own brick.
