Update from CCU social media

By Brent Reser, social media coordinator

With the beginning of a new academic year, excitement is everywhere around campus. However, if you are stuck in an office all day or don’t make it to Coastal on the weekend, you might feel that you are missing out. Don’t worry; there is a solution for you: #CCUSocialMedia.

The goal of the social media program at Coastal Carolina University is to capture the excitement of campus and deliver it to Chant supporters via their computer or smart device. The hope for the 2014-2015 year is to do this better than ever before.

On Aug.18, the #CCUfamily campaign kicked off. Throughout the fall semester, a different student will be featured on CCU’s social media outlets and website each day. Covering the student in multiple ways on each platform, the campaign encourages supporters to follow all social outlets of CCU in order to obtain the full story on the featured student.

On Sept. 9, the #CCUSA: 50 Flags, 50 States campaign will wrap up. A summer initiative that featured a member of the Coastal community waving a Chanticleer flag in that day’s spotlighted state, it coincided with the university’s new #TEALnation campaign. The CCUSA tour was a great success that generated Chant pride and media coverage.

But social media at Coastal Carolina University doesn’t just rely on planned campaigns to capture the buzz of the institution. Rather, it focuses more on the numerous events and interactions that occur each day on campus. Every time you log on to one of the various Coastal social media channels you can expect to see something new and engaging. Contests are offered daily. Photos and videos are posted frequently. Content submitted by those passionate about CCU is highlighted. To put it simply, #CCUSocialMedia provides a direct reflection of the attitude and atmosphere on campus.
