Economic Growth Summit makes news

The 17th Annual Economic Growth Summit took place on Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Crown Reef Conference Center in Myrtle Beach from 9 a.m. to noon.

The keynote speaker for this year’s summit was Stephen Moore, chief economist for The Heritage Foundation, the conservative think tank in Washington, D.C.; guest speaker was Fred Green III, president and CEO of the South Carolina Bankers Association. The summit also included a financial forecast from Robert Salvino, associate professor and research economist for The Center for Economic and Community Development at Coastal Carolina University.

The summit, which consisted of local business professionals, political figures, chamber members, and faculty, staff and students from both CCU and HGTC, was well received and well attended, with approximately 150 people in attendance.
