Check out Archives Center page on Facebook for old photos

Ben Burroughs, director of the Horry County Archives Center at CCU, has been uploading 25 historical photos every Thursday (“Throwback Thursday”) on Facebook for people to identify. Eventually, the photos and data will go up on a webpage on the center’s site.

The Lonnie W. Fleming Sr. Photograph Collection consists of approximately 800 photos taken mostly in the 1960s in Conway. On this site (Horry County Archives Center at CCU) we have included a portion of that collection in order to identify them.

If you can identify any of the people, know anything about the event or can date the photograph, please leave a comment or message us with that information so that we can add it to our database. From time to time we will add additional photographs from this collection to this site for you to enjoy and help identify. We thank you very much for your help with this project!

All images in this collection are the property of the Horry County Archives Center at CCU and were donated to the HCAC by Betty Fleming on May 5, 2014, in memory of her husband, Lonnie Fleming, who was affectionately known by many of his subjects as "Flash."
