Former CCU president hired as interim provost at ASU

Former president of Coastal Carolina University Ronald Ingle has been hired as interim provost and vice president of academic affairs at Athens State University in Athens, Ala.

The university is negotiating a contract with Ingle, who starts work Jan. 12. He and his wife, Judy, will live in the university-owned home on Pryor Street.

Ingle fills the position left vacant after the resignation of Ronald Cromwell in September.

Ingle served 14 years as the first president of CCU. He has held administrative and teaching positions at the University of South Carolina, Kennesaw State University (Kennesaw, Ga.) and South Georgia State College in Douglas, Ga.

Recently, Ingle served a two-year appointment as executive vice president at Young Harris (Georgia) College, a private, liberal arts school.
