CCU alumnus wins Teacher of Year for Horry County

Coastal Carolina University alumnus Joey Trail '12 was named Teacher of the Year by Horry County Schools recently.

The award was granted to the 7th-grade English language arts teacher of Forestbrook Middle on April 28. Trail has taught in Horry County Schools for three years. He earned a bachelor's degree in English language arts and social studies from CCU in May 2012. His GPA was 4.0

“Students need to be the authors of their destinies,” says Trail, who was also named Forestbrook Middle Teacher of the Year for the 2014-2015 school year.
