Sustainability installs new bike racks

Seventy-five new bike racks are being installed all over campus at Coastal Carolina University, according to Jennifer Sellers, coordinator of sustainability for the University.

Made of recycled hard plastic (from milk jugs and laundry bottles), the black racks are more visible and easier to use.

Sellers estimates that 300 to 500 students are biking around campus, and the CCU bikes are checked out 100 percent of the time.

Sellers said Campus Recreation is working to have CCU designated a "Bike Friendly Campus."
