Coastal Couriers bike program is under way

Need to run a quick errand? What if you could jump on a bike and take off across campus? You'd get your chore done more quickly, and you'd receive the health exercise benefits.

The Coastal Couriers Bicycle Program, sponsored by the Conway Lions Club, provides brand new cruiser-style bicycles at the seven main locations on campus for 30-minute checkout.

"The purpose of the program is to allow student workers, faculty and staff to run errands in more efficient manner on campus," says Marissa Mitzner, sustainability coordinator. "If the program is successful, we hope to provide additional bikes to other campus buildings."

The bicycles are intended for quick errands only, so rides must be kept to less than 30 minutes, and a helmet must be worn at all times for safety purposes; one will be provided for you during check-out.

Check-out locations:

Edwards College 201
Kearns 116
Singleton 103 (Student Affairs Office)
Smith Science Center 124
Student Center (OSAL Office 2nd floor)
