CCU faculty member Rob Young makes the news
Coastal Carolina University marine science professor Robert Young, who works with the South Carolina Marine Mammal Stranding Network, was in the news recently when a pygmy sperm whale and her calf washed onto the beach in the Lake Arrowhead area and died.
The beachings provided an opportunity to educate the several hundred people who gathered on the beach to see the whales, said Young.
