CCU professor attends conferences in Beijing

Dianne Mark attended two conferences in Beijing, China, in early December. She was invited by the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) to attend and present at the conferences as a member of the board of directors for AACTE and the board liaison for their Global Initiatives Committee.

AACTE is a national alliance of educator preparation providers dedicated to high-quality, evidence-based preparation that assures educators are ready to teach all learners from day one. They work with educational preparation providers from various types of institutions (i.e., public, private, online) and have a membership of more than 800 institutions of higher education in all 50 states and U.S. territories, including Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

The first conference, Global Educational Technology (GET) conference, was Dec. 4 and 5. As one of the keynote speakers, Mark spoke about the AACTE's role as the leading voice in educator preparation in the United States. She provided opening remarks for the second conference, the First China Education Innovation Expo (CEIE), concluded successfully in Beijing Normal University on Dec. 7. There were more than 11,000 participants, including 800 principals and 300 educational enterprises.
