Academic assessment winners announced

The top 10 Academic Assessment Reports completed in Fall 2015 were recognized at the spring general faculty meeting on Jan. 7 by Associate Provost John Beard.

Various assessments of student learning have been conducted during the previous year, detailing changes planned for the future designed to improve learning in that major. A universitywide committee reviews and rates all such reports submitted each fall and provides individual feedback to each department chair and program coordinator. From these reviews, the committee identified the 10 highest rated program reports for that cycle. These included:

B. S. in computer science
M.A.T. in social studies
B. S. in information systems
B. A. in art studio
B. A. in special education
B. A. in philosophy
B. A. in graphic design
B. A. in history
B. A. in middle level education
B. A. in communication

The top three reports (B. S. in computer science, M.A. T. in social studies and B. S. in information systems) were given special recognition in the form of plaques and monetary awards in support of their departmental assessment efforts.
