CCU sponsors sixth Setting the Table program

Civic Engagement at Coastal Carolina University and Catholic Charities-Pee Dee have created a program to help senior citizens in the Grand Strand community.

Any individual, group, department or office can participate by filling a basket with household and personal hygiene items. If you choose to help, please fill a reusable plastic or wicker laundry basket with items from the list below.

Consider donating items that most of us take for granted but would make a difference to our neighbors in the area. Our hope is that together we can share the compassion of the CCU family with hundreds of people this spring.

To register, complete the Setting the Table Intent Form on Coastal Connections. Forms must be received by Wednesday, March 30, by 5 p.m. Once you have completed the form, you will receive an email the week of April 4 with more information about instructions to deliver the baskets. Setting the Table will be on Friday, April 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Donation list:

• Boost nutritional drink
• Adult diapers
• Towels and washcloths
• Pots and pans
• Nonplastic dishes
• Plates, cups, utensils
• Household/cleaning supplies
• Paper towels, laundry detergent, dish soap, toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, bleach, etc.
• Personal hygiene items
• Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, hand sanitizer, lotion, etc.
