Leadership awards announced at CCU

A Coastal Carolina University graduating senior who started a community camp for kids to learn how to fish is the winner of the school’s Ronald D. Lackey Service Award, the University’s highest honor for a student who engages in service to the community.

Steven O. Vanden Heuvel, a finance major from Houston, Texas, was awarded the prize at the Student Involvement and Leadership Awards ceremony held recently in Wheelwright Auditorium. This event recognizes CCU’s student organizations, student leaders and programming. A committee of eight faculty and staff members reviewed the campuswide nominations and vote on winners.
