Luken featured on 'Xploration Awesome Planet'

Jim Luken, associate provost and director of graduate studies, was recently filmed for the syndicated TV show "Xploration Awesome Planet." The show, hosted by Philippe Cousteau Jr., grandson of the legendary Jacques Cousteau, focused on various aspects of carnivorous plants and specifically the venus flytrap found growing at nearby Lewis Ocean Bay Heritage Preserve.

In addition to being interviewed about the biology and ecology of carnivorous plants, Luken was given the opportunity to explain the rewards and challenges of a career in science to junior high and high school students.
