CCU Athletics conducts Louisiana Flood Relief Drive

The Coastal Carolina University Department of Athletics has announced it is conducting a Flood Relief Drive until Sept. 10 to assist those affected by the recent flooding in the Louisiana.

Coastal Carolina students and staff, as well as community members, are encouraged to participate in the relief efforts.

At this time, the most pressing needs for those affected by the flooding are cleaning supplies and toiletries. Please refer to the list below to view preferred donations.

Clothes and furniture WILL NOT BE accepted.

Individuals who are interested in donating supplies can bring their items to Arcadia Hall (132 Chanticleer Drive W.) on the campus of Coastal Carolina, or any CCU home athletic event prior to Sept. 10. "The Department of Athletics is eager to assist those in need by collecting and delivering essential supplies to the state of Louisiana, where many have had their lives upended by the devastating floods," said Rosiek. "We invite the community to support our efforts by donating goods that are in need, with an emphasis on cleaning supplies. We empathize with those affected by the tragic floods and look forward to partnering with our Sun Belt Conference brethren University of Louisiana Lafayette in providing relief."

Lewis Truck Lines Inc. has donated its services to assist with the relief drive. A trailer will be placed in the Brooks Stadium RV Lot (behind the baseball scoreboard) to store donated supplies until the drive ends, at which point it will deliver the supplies to the campus of UL Lafayette for distribution.
