Science II is finished and in session

Coastal Carolina University’s new Science II Building is finished and in session. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening was held Aug. 25 in the courtyard. A record 4,078 science students are enrolled.

The $30 million project features 40 faculty offices, eight teaching labs, four 60-seat classrooms, two 45-seat classrooms, an ecology teaching lab and six small labs for ecology research. The 71,150 square-foot building is located between the Swain and Smith Science buildings, completing the science complex on campus.

Science II houses the marine science, biology and chemistry departments, as well as the environmental sciences.
