Construction updates from Rein Mungo

T. Rein Mungo, interim director for Facilities Planning and Management, provided this update on construction projects on campus.

The next building slated for completion is the Singleton Building later in October. All of the carpet is in place, painting is nearlycompleted, and some of the stain work is going on right now. The new sidewalks are in place, and the landscaping should begin in the next couple of weeks.

In the Smith Science Center, the general contractor has just begun the early stages of demollishing some of the interior electrical panels. Some of the walls and ceilings will be removed in the next several weeks. It should be completed by October.

Bids were due Sept. 1 for the University Place Dining Hall. That construction is slated to begin in early October.
