New paralegal named at CCU

Melissa Jarrard has been named a paralegal in the Office of University Counsel.

Jarrard ‘00 will be responsible for contract management, assisting in the implementation of the electronic contract management system and helping maintain Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

Before returning to CCU, Jarrard served for more than 15 years with the Horry County Solicitor’s Office as a paralegal and victim/witness advocate, where she was responsible for drafting legal documents, case management of clients, advocating for criminal domestic abuse and more.

She also worked as a media assistant for the Horry County School District, where she catalogued research materials, maintained inventory and helped students in research.

Jarrard earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from CCU in 2006 and an associate degree in paralegal from HGTC in 2000.
