Fourth annual Giving Teal Tuesday raised $48,685
by Jerry Rashid
Thanks to the generous support from numerous Coastal Carolina University faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends, more than $48,685 was raised during the University’s fourth annual Giving Teal Tuesday campaign on Nov. 5. The money will support student scholarships, academic programs, and other areas on campus.
“CCU faculty and staff really powered this effort,” said Gordon McCawley, associate director of annual giving and alumni relations. “We’re so thankful for their passion and generosity. By all measures, it was another successful Giving Teal Tuesday. It is great to see Teal Nation united in support of our students.”
The Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts won the Giving Teal Tuesday College Challenge, a friendly giving competition between the colleges. Dean Claudia Bornholdt and her colleagues in the Edwards College handily won all three challenge categories with 68 donors (23 percent of employees), an average gift amount of $116.42, and a total of $8,498.78 donated to claim the Dean’s Cup for 2019.
The Office for Philanthropy is especially thankful for the generosity of Chad Casselman ’98, a computer science graduate who made a lead gift for the third consecutive year.
Thanks for supporting our students during Giving Teal Tuesday!
