Welcome to the Spring 2016 Edition!

From the Editor:

Welcome to the Spring 2016 online issue of the Coastal Business Journal. The journal continues to work on the quality of its publications and increasing impact. While the journal will continue to focus on issues pertaining to business administration and business development within coastal geographic regions and publish papers related to a wider variety of pertinent and timely business issues, we must be mindful of our acceptance rate and other measures of impact. We are listed in Cabell’s, EbscoHost, Proquest and Google Scholar as a multi-disciplinary, double-blind, peer-reviewed outlet for scholarly papers. Unfortunately, for inclusion in other prestigious databases, we need to firmly identify a set of ethical standards and include them on the journal’s website; we are actively working towards that end.

I would like to extend my thanks to the publisher; Dr. Barbara Ritter, dean of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University, for her unending support. I also want to thank our editorial review board who are responsible for providing timely and detailed reviews. If you are interested in submitting an article for consideration in the next edition of the Coastal Business Journal, please see our author guidelines.

Our number of submissions has declined and I ask for your support in soliciting articles to be submitted for review. For this issue, we had 10 submittals and five accepted for an acceptance rate of 50 percent. These numbers I believe are not sustainable to enhance the reputation and impact of the journal. Please feel free to submit articles to me at ntwigg@coastal.edu.

Thank you for your interest in the Coastal Business Journal and I hope you enjoy the Spring 2016 issue.
