Business executives address students as part of Distinguished Speaker Series

The Distinguished Speaker Series took place on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, in the Wall College of Business Johnson Auditorium. The featured guest speaker was William Gerber, retired chief financial officer of TD Ameritrade. Gerber spoke to a crowd of more than 150 business students on the importance of hard work, his road to success and the challenges presented in today’s business world. It was an excellent opportunity for our students to have access to and ask questions of someone of Gerber’s caliber. “I am very privileged to have had the connection to gain one-on-one experience with Mr. Gerber while he was on campus,” said Steven Smith, chair of alumni relations for CCU’s chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma. “Opportunities like this reiterate the fact that CCU really cares about the success of its students.”

Robert Bagby, retired CEO and former chairman of A.G. Edwards Inc., and Sandra Brittian, global head of Citi Holdings Program Management Office and former executive vice president of mergers and acquisitions for CitiGroup, spoke to business students on Feb. 25 and 29, respectively, in Johnson Auditorium and to select classrooms.

The Distinguished Speaker Series premiered in Fall 2014 and was created to connect the CCU academic community with highly regarded and successful business leaders and to strengthen the relationship between the Wall College of Business and the business community.
