The Wall College welcomes new faculty and staff


Lisa Bernadyn is the administrative specialist for the Department of Management and Decision Sciences. Prior to joining the Wall College family, Bernadyn worked in the Office of the Registrar. She and her husband, Jim, have two daughters (Amanda and Jenna) and a dog named Dixie.

Bernadyn moved to the Grand Strand area seven years ago from Pennsylvania. She enjoys hockey, traveling and going to the beach. 

 

 

Dennis Stemmle joined the Department of Management and Decision Sciences at CCU in Fall 2017. A graduate of Coastal Carolina College, Stemmle earned his M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina in 1986. Early in his career, he worked as a senior auditor with Florida Power and Light Company. From there, Stemmle has been involved in a variety of technology-related companies and divisions. He served as general manager for Amazon Marketplace and was president of ServiceLive.com, a leading online services marketplace for repairs and installations that is a division of Sears Holdings Corporation; he was also the chief operating officer (COO) for a $650 million real estate investment firm.

Stemmle was the co-founder of two technology-related start-up firms, one of which became part of Oracle’s (ORCL) Angle and Venture Fund and eventually grew to a $250 million market capitalization, while the other was later sold to a publicly traded company for seven figures. He has authored/co-authored three books since 2012, including “The Power of Setbacks: A Blueprint for Turning Your Setbacks into Success and Starting Your Own Online Business" (Morgan James Publishing); “Ultimate Marketing Hacks: 241 Proven Marketing Hacks that Ignite Sales and Allow You to Dominate Your Competition" (Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing); and “10 Ways For Any Business To Easily Make More Money” (Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing).

Stemmle will be teaching a variety of management courses, as well as serving as the external engagement coordinator.

 

Zhili Tian, Ph.D.,  joined the Wall College in Fall 2017 as an assistant professor in the Department of Management and Decision Sciences. He earned his Ph.D. in Operations Management from Washington University in 2011 and two master degrees: an M.S. in Management from UCLA in 2006; and an M.S. in Transportation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2002.

Tian most recently served on the faculty at Florida International University and Towson University (MD). Since 2012, he has three peer-reviewed journal articles: Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, an A-level journal; IIE Transactions, an A-level journal; and International Journal of Revenue Management, a C-level journal. Tian will be teaching Operations Management, Decision Analysis and other operations-related courses. He is classified as Scholarly Academic (SA) as he joins our team beginning the Fall 2017 semester.

 

Lindsey Toper is an academic adviser in the Wall College of Business. She joined the Wall College family in Summer 2017. Toper received her B.S. in sociology and family/human development from Arizona State University and her M.S. in counseling with a concentration in college student personnel from the University of Bridgeport.

She enjoys yoga, hiking, skiing, beach volleyball, paddleboarding, traveling, DIY project, watching football on Sundays, reading and cooking. To view Lindsey’s bio, click here.
