Wall College accounting department named after outgoing board of trustees chairman

The accounting department in the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University has been named the D. Wyatt Henderson Department of Accounting, in honor of CCU’s outgoing board of trustees chairman.

The announcement was very humbling and a tremendous honor as the Accounting Department and Coastal Carolina University has had a tremendous impact on my life.

Henderson graduated from CCU in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and has served on the CCU board of trustees since 2009; he was elected chairman in 2011. He is managing partner of Henderson Accounting in Greenville, S.C., where he resides with his wife, Stacy. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, S.C. Association of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the South Carolina Tax Council.

“President DeCenzo and Provost Byington certainly outdid themselves, as I was totally surprised; they even managed to keep it from my wife, Stacy,” said Henderson. “The announcement was very humbling and a tremendous honor as the accounting department and Coastal Carolina University has had a tremendous impact on my life. As a matter of fact, if it hadn’t been for my accounting professor, Linda Henderson, I wouldn’t be where I am today. It has been a pleasure serving as chairman of the board of trustees for the last six years, and I am excited for the future of this University. Go Chants!”
