CoBE Associates gaining attention in community
The Community and Business Engagement (CoBE) Institute is a student-led organization that bridges the gap between the classroom and workplace experience by pairing high-achieving undergraduate business students with real-life business consulting projects. CoBE Associates receive instruction and mentoring as they gain real-world practical experience that will help them develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills while producing and providing high-quality solutions for business clients.
Thus far, associates have worked with various small- and large-scale businesses in an assortment of industries. A few of these industries include higher education, travel, massage therapy, advertising, publishing, education, fashion and medical. The associates listen to their clients’ needs and follow up by doing an in-depth assessment of the company. Next, they create a project proposal and assist the client until the project’s completion. Associates have worked on many different types of project proposals, which include financial, marketing, managerial, client recruitment and operations management.
When receiving a new project or recruiting a new client, the associates make sure they create teams for the project that add benefit to the clients’ needs. Teams usually consist of two to four associates. Project completion timelines vary due to clients’ needs and the time it takes to develop the proposal. Some projects have lasted from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the different details.
