Wall Fellows travel to Chicago for annual domestic trip

Spring Break took the Wall Fellows Class of 2018 to Chicago for its annual domestic trip. The first stop was at Ernst & Young (EY) with Wall Fellow alumna Stephanie Boglioli (WF’12), CPA. The students learned about her role with the company and advances with technology impacting the industry. A key lesson from the visit with Boglioli was the opportunity to hear that the advice given in the program is 100 percent applicable in future careers.

The second company visited was Data Realty, located in South Bend, Ind. During the visit, the students visited with Rich Carlton, owner of Data Realty. Carlton gave the students a facility tour and showed them various processes from security access to the amount of electricity required by the facility.

The Class of 2018 met with CCU alumni Jeremy Samatas ’98 and Brooke Weisbrod ’01. Both shared their advice, experience, struggles and victories with the students, allowing them to see what the process of life really looks like from their perspective. Samatas is an entrepreneur who has created and led successful businesses in a variety of industries, and Weisbrod has had a long career with ESPN.

In addition to the company meetings and visits with alumni, the Wall Fellows learned a great deal about the history and culture of Chicago. As with all of our activities, the domestic trip was a journey to learn, make memories and grow together. As the Wall Fellows Class of 2018 prepares for graduation and the future, the trip was a great experience for the students.
