November 13, 2018

Conway, SC - The Grant Center for Real Estate and Economics at Coastal Carolina University has announced the following businesses as the 2018 winners of its annual Real Estate Awards:

Residential: Papillon North Ocean Boulevard

Commercial: THEBlvd

Resort and Tourism: Ocean Enclave by Hilton Grand Vacations Club

Government, Public and Nonprofit: Matt Hughes Skate Park

Restaurant: Lucy Buffett's LuLu's at Barefoot Landing

Made possible through a gift from the Tony and Carrie Grant Fund, the awards celebrate real estate excellence in the residential, commercial, resort/tourism, government/public/nonprofit, and restaurant sectors within Horry and Georgetown counties, South Carolina, and Brunswick County, North Carolina.

THEBlvd is a new complex on North Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach, S.C. “We are very honored to receive this award,” said Patrick Marino, a partner with developer Land South MB, LLC. “Bringing THEBlvd to life on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk has been a labor of love. Now complete, we are welcoming new tenants and entertainment to an area that is on the cusp of a major revival, and hope to leave behind a legacy that creates value for the entire community.”

“THEBlvd was designed to showcase Myrtle Beach and its beach lifestyle by bringing in great food, entertainment and shopping to one of the nation’s most popular family and vacation destinations,” said Brian Macho, partner of Land South MB, LLC. “We are thrilled to be recognized by Coastal Carolina University for a development that we believe will help the Myrtle Beach community continue to flourish as a whole new generation discovers the vitality, diversity and charm that the boardwalk has to offer.”

Ocean Enclave by Hilton Grand Vacations Club, winner of the resort and tourism award, is currently under construction with expected completion in the second quarter of 2019.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to partner once again with Hilton Grand Vacations on this extraordinary oceanfront resort in Myrtle Beach. We are fortunate to have leadership at the City of Myrtle Beach to encourage development of this scale and quality. We feel Ocean Enclave will welcome new visitors to the City of Myrtle Beach for many years to come,” said J. Patrick Lowe, partner at Strand Capital Group, the developer of Ocean Enclave.

Winning the government, public and nonprofit award is the newly renovated Matt Hughes Skate Park, which reopened on Saturday, July 28, in Myrtle Beach. The park is named after a Myrtle Beach teen who died while skateboarding in 1998.

Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s anchors the new Dockside Village in Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach.

“It is an honor to be the anchor tenant of Burroughs & Chapin’s redevelopment of Barefoot Landing, and to be so quickly accepted as a new member of the community,” said George Martin, chief operating officer of LuLu’s. “We take such pride in the responsibility we feel to the betterment of North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach commerce. We look forward to many great years on the Grand Strand.”

Winchester Development Group and Myrtle Beach-based Sands Building Group have partnered to create residential award winner Papillon North Ocean Boulevard, a pedestrian-friendly community that showcases superior homes with traditional Lowcountry family designs.

The awards will be presented by the Grant Center for Real Estate and Economics in a ceremony on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018. To honor their achievements in real estate, nominees will receive certificates of nominations, and winners will receive crystal awards and the 2018 winning title in each award category.
