Organizational mission or general goals:
The decision to pursue in-home care for a family member is an important one. The process of choosing a trustworthy non-medical home care provider can seem daunting, but we're here to help. We make your decision easier by offering the kind of personalized attention that you can feel good about. We specialize in care, companionship, and piece of mind. You want the very best quaility of life for your family, and so do we.

Primary services provided:
We provide quality, affordable, non-medical in-home care for adults of all ages so they can enjoy the best quality of life wherever and whenever they need it. Whether for seniors that need some assistance in order to stay in their homes, families with members who have special needs or disabilities, those recovering from an illness or surgery, even people who just need someone to talk to and visit with as they move through life; we are your alternative for care when and where it's needed most...for several hours a week up to full time, live-in situations. Our companion care, personal care, and even our personalizing, engaging,Dementia Care Services are available at home, in nursing and assisted living facilities, and hospitals - wherever the need may be. PLUS, our innovative client and family tools ensure that you're engaged and informed of your loved one's care every step of the way.

Primary clientele served:
The reponsibility of caring for an older parent or relative is a part of life for many adults across the country. At FirstLight, we see caring for seniors as a privilege, not just an obligation. So, when you can't be there, you can count on us to provide great care and an understanding smile in a place that's near and dear to their hearts - home.

Employees and/or volunteers:

Staff members eligible for professional credentialing and credentialed staff members employed:
If you have met one person with dementia, you've only met one person. That is, each individual will talk, act, remember, and behave differently, not simply because of what stage of dementia they are in, but because "They Are Who They Are" That is why FirstLight has developed its unique Dementia Program - building care around the individual, not the disease - incorporating who the were, not just who we see today. It's a personalized and engaging approach, where our goal is to make sure those affected by this disease live the rest of their lives with purpose. Each clients "Who I Am" booklet is completed to answer much more than basic history...We want to understand things about your loved one such as: What Makes you happy? Laugh? Feel accomplished? What stresses or frustrates you? Care coordinators and Caregivers then use this information to build a specific and individualized plan for your loved one's daily care. How is this different from other home care companies? From a rigourous caregiver selection process to an on-going training and one-on-one consultations, we not only implement the plan throughout our Culture of Care, but we continue to evaluate its effectiveness with: Client Satisfaction Surveys Client and caregiver Focus Groups and Advisory Councils
