If you've been on Highway 544 and driven past Brooks Stadium at Coastal Carolina University recently, you might have noticed hundreds of pink ribbons tied to the railings. That's part of an effort that started eight years ago, with the President's office teaming up with Athletics to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each of the ribbons carries a name of someone, with a connection to Teal Nation, who has been impacted by breast cancer. Sorority Gamma Phi Beta played a key role in the project this year.

In the middle of a pandemic, there are naturally many questions that arise. To meet the demand of a high volume of phone calls, Coastal Carolina University has established a COVID Call Center, where individuals can go to have all of their questions answered.
Isolation & Quarantine: What to Expect

When students at Coastal Carolina University need to be placed in isolation or quarantine, because of COVID-19, the University tends to their needs at every step of the process. SC7 Expedition Showcases Coastal Leadership

An expedition taking place this month, which originated in the mountains and will end at the sea, is being influenced greatly by Coastal Carolina University. Research professor, Tom Mullikin, who also chairs the South Carolina Floodwater Commission, created and is leading the expedition. CCU is also involved by way of producing and conducting a survey on climate change that will gauge the attitudes of those who join the journey along the way.
Project SEARCH Graduation

Five individuals who have gone through the LIFE Program at Coastal Carolina University are now also graduates of Project SEARCH. This was the first year for Project Search, which entailed full-time internships for the students at Conway Medical Center. It's another element of the LIFE Program, which has a stated goal of 100% employment for those who complete the program. The LIFE Program provides individuals with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to live and study on campus.
CCU Produces Law Enforcement PSA

In light of recent events around the country, local law enforcement leaders wanted to send a unified message to the community. They chose Coastal Carolina University to produce the public service announcement. CCU was also represented by Public Safety Director, David Roper. The effort comes at the same time that President David DeCenzo sent a letter to members of Teal Nation, restating the commitment that Coastal is a place of inclusivity.
Pack the Pantry Parking Amnesty

For the third year, Coastal Carolina University is holding its Pack the Pantry Parking Amnesty event. Under the program, those who receive parking tickets are allowed to pay the fine by donating five non-perishable food items to the CINO Pantry. It's all designed to stock the CINO Pantry with food, raise awareness that the pantry exists and educate the campus community about where to park. Donations of food items are allowed through Tuesday, September 15th for tickets received through Sunday, September 13th.
