The above is Ashley Shaw’s favorite quote. Although far from arriving at the end, she has started early at making her story a good one. The junior from North Augusta discovered Coastal while vacationing with her family in Myrtle Beach. The next thing she knew, Ashley was on a campus tour with a strong desire to become a Chanticleer.
Fast forward to her junior year at CCU and you will find Ashley succeeding in leadership positions. She is Vice President of Operations for the Coastal Activities Board and an office assistant in the Dean of Students Office. On top of those two responsibilities, she is also a resident advisor for University Housing. It is in this job that she embraces serving as a strong support person for residents. She says that she is the girl Coastal students can go to for someone who will “have the answer or will find the answer.”
Ashley has a very noble and specific goal. One day she wants to work for a company where she can make a positive difference in the global economy. As she continues to “make her story a good one,” this will undoubtedly be her next successful chapter.

How did you hear about Coastal?: On a family vacation to Myrtle Beach I saw the sign to Coastal and attended a tour.
Why did you come to Coastal?: I came to Coastal because of the business program they have here.
Favorite professor: ECON John (John Marcis)
Favorite class: CBAD 120 Intro to Global Business
Favorite aspect of Coastal?: The campus is beautiful
Favorite aspect of living in the Conway/Myrtle Beach area?: I love the storms we get. I love watching a good thunder storm.
Clubs/Intramurals/other extracurricular activities involved in?: Coastal Activities Board, Colleges Against Cancer.
Do you work anywhere currently (either on or off campus)?: Yes, resident advisor in Low Country, office assistant for the Dean of Student Office, and Vice President of Operations for Coastal Activities Board.
Plans after graduation?: Work for some company trying to make a difference in the global economy.
What are your hobbies?: I work a lot but when I do have free time I like to craft.
Do you have any hidden talents?: I can balance a cup on my head.
